Tips That Make the Values Stick

  • Say the memory words aloud: abjad, hawwaz, hutti, kalaman, sa’fas, qarashat, thakhadh and dazagh.
  • Learn the letters that share a shape together. ب is 2, but ت is 400 and ث is 500.
  • Read every explanation after you answer, even when you are right.
  • Stop after three rounds and come back later. Short practice works better than one long session.

The Three Question Types

  • Letter to value shows a letter and asks for its number.
  • Value to letter shows a number and asks for its letter.
  • Short words show a name or word with up to four letters and ask for the total.

Mixed mode draws from all three types.

Mixed mode draws from all three, which is the best final check.
